Morning Rush

Let the FRIDAY madness begin !
But before we start the weekend,
I got to make a note to myself:
"GET THE KIDS TO SCHOOL ON TIME NEXT WEEK"

Yes indeed, today another day we arrived too late.
#SHAMEONME

I keep wondering
while we are running like mad to the school gate:
"How is it possible that the other kids are always on time???"
Don't they have traffic jam?
Aren't they stubbornly?
Don't they dawdle around?

Well, mine are really stubbornly
and take too much time to get dressed and eat.
Luckily they are not grumpy in the morning #happykids

Here is our morning routine:

My alarm clock says 6h30 but actually
I don't need one because Mila is always up first.
She enters our room with full excitement
"Mommy Mommy it's light outside"
I try to tell her to wake me up in silence
but well, it hasn't been a success.

Daddy is already off to work, so she picks his spot.
We cuddle a bit till it's time to get up around 7 o'clock.
Meanwhile she already asked 10 times to get her bottle 😂

I wake up Maroo first and put her in my bed.
Then I make bottles and pick their clothes.
While they are watching Paw Patrol and drink their
bottles in bed, I make myself ready in 30 minutes.

Fashion issues can happen, when it takes me a bit longer :)

#todayslook

Before I was a mom I showered in the morning,
now I take a bath when the kids are off to bed!
So much easier for your morning routine,
just get dressed, put some foundation on,
brush your teeth and do your hair.

Around 7h30 it's time to get the girls ready.
Big girls wear panties, no more diapers
so it's really important they go to the toilet first!
Otherwise accidents can happen and
we're definitely too late for school 😲

Our get-ready steps on school days are:
1. Go to the toilet ✔
2. Brush teeth ✔
3. Wash face, hands & bottom ✔
4. Get dressed ✔
5. Brush hair and make ponytail ✔
5. Put on Shoes ✔
6. Put on Jacket ✔

All of this has to happens in half an hour
or we leave way too late!

They get dressed by themselves but it takes them so long
that I usually try to help them with the
necessary drama and crying along.

Things I hear every morning
over and over again while getting ready:
* I can't do that
(while they don't want any help)
* Is it right like that?
(while they put it on backwards)
* Are we going to school?
* Are you going to pick us up from school?
* The water is too cold or the water is too hot
* We want another pair of trousers
* We don't want those shoes

probably recognizable for every parent 😂

8 o'clock, time to leave the house!
School bags ready (made them the night before)
Sandwich in the hand and off to school!

We live around 11 km's from school,
so we are supposed to get their in 15 minutes.
Unless traffic jam!
Last couple of weeks it has been a real disaster.
School start at 8h20 and we normally arrive around 8h16,
just perfect!
They don't like to hang around the play yard in the morning, so I try to get them on school just before the bell rings.

This week it's already the third time we came too late
because of traffic jam everywhere. OMG I feel so ashamed!
I always think their teacher will not like me for that,
but hell yeah at least our outfits are on point!

So are there any moms with good tips?
Should I get up more early?
What is your morning routine?
Am I the only one who get's the kids late at school?
